Underwood Art Factory

Underwood is a Phuket based art factory headed by recognized Australian artist John Underwood. Underwood Art Factory creates high-end custom furnishings, artworks, sculptures and mosaics with our main clientele lying in architectural projects and the villa/resort market.

Over the past 20 years, Thailand has proved it’s self to be a sound choice for basing our business and having a dedicated team of Thai staff has contributed to many fruitful and successful years.

As the major sponsor of WWP we not only want to make a financial contribution but we are endeavoring to nurture the success of the organization by equipping these women with skills they can carry with them for life.

With each large-scale mosaic project, we will employ women from the WWP charity and teach them the Italian art of mosaics. Thai people in general are gifted artists and mosaics can give them something that no other Thai artist has. The reason we chose mosaics for WWP is anyone can learn the art form. One does not have to be naturally artistic to learn this skill but it will certainly bring out an artistic element within the individual.

Our current mosaic team is headed by Sommai Bunthanom. Khun Sommai leads and teaches the ladies in our current team and provides a social, family environment giving everyone a feeling of belonging and importance for every project.

In the future, we would like to hold art exhibitions for women from WWP showing and selling their own personal works using the skills they gained working with us at Underwood.

We hope that by giving the women from WWP these opportunities it will give them confidence, independence and stability.
